Styrofoam Model

Strafor Model

We have achieved 100% success in our model applications without needing the application of spades with the styrofoam material we use in your disposable casting model needs without providing the slope and taper feature.

In this way, we minimize your costs associated with modeling and production, and ensure fast production. Styrofoam is the material used to form patterns and patterns. The production of this material results from the inflating of thermoplastic closed pores and polystyrene particles. Styrofoam consisting of 98% of dry and dry air is also used in the model sector. General features of high thermal insulation, heat conduction of the desired material and easily change the thermal conductivity coefficient never change the pressure of a fragile structure is resistant to pressure, environmental damage and water does not cause any materials such as the general characteristics of the styrofoam. The reasons for using the model sector are easy labor and design richness.

Gebze Makina Model produces styrofoam models as well as all materials. In order for the designs to occur, if the operations are to be explained in order, the model design is started by first delivering the technical drawings determined by the person or institution who ordered the product. Technical drawing, the drawings related to the model to be produced and the overall design are shown in the diagrams. After examining the pictures, 3D modeling process is started. The importance of this process is to determine the general structure of the model, such as the parts to be used, the design of the shape, the diameter curve, and the length of which part to be used. Thanks to the model plan made by the experts in the field, the dimensions of the parts to be used in the design of the styrofoam model, the aesthetic views and the processes are controlled in a controlled manner. After the technical drawing and model plans, casting simulation is an important part of the styrofoam model operations.

The simplification of the simulation process in a simple language is a process that determines the possible casting errors in the design phase of the model and prevents the problems that may occur in production. The casting simulation, which enables the quality of the styrofoam model to be produced, also ensures that the parts to be used in the design will be more healthy, but also prevents the loss of time experienced as a result of the time and repetitive work. Particularly, it is an important factor in the formation of faultless styrofoam models.

Another advantage of the casting simulation is the material loss caused by the casting process required to eliminate the lines which are not noticed in 3D design. If we continue with the process, the materials required for forming the styrofoam model are prepared. By determining the dimensions of this material, cutting and shaping of 5 axis CNC machine is applied. Thanks to these operations, the model is rendered in 3D view. In other words, it is the process that must be done to create designs and shapes. As a final step with the preparation of all parts, the formed mold is sent to the foundry. An important detail is that the styrofoam material is used for one-time operations and resin molds. So it does not persist. A mold is only used for a model. The reason for this is that the prepared molds remain in the styrofoam model during casting. The molds are not removed during the casting process. The reason for this is that the attempt to remove the molds both damages the other parts and the deformation of the styrofoam. The sand is melted in the form of casting during the casting process. This leaves the volume to melt material and this is one of the reasons why the styrofoam is only disposable. It is especially used in the production of highly heavy models in rough and tonal terms. One of the main reasons for its use in the casting sector is that besides the easy labor, massively heavy products are designed with low costs.

Another detail is that the surface area of the styrofoam material is rougher than the other materials due to its structure. For this reason, it is used in the production of models that do not prioritize large and aesthetic appearance. Styrofoam materials are generally produced between densities of 10 to 30 densities. For this reason, the products are designed to be more durable and the surface with a density of 30 densit hard styrofoam is used.
